The fall weather in the Bay area is a delight and the Farmer's Markets are full of end-of-summer heirloom tomatoes, apples, grapes, pears and figs, beets and a huge variety of squash to just name a few of our favorites. There's the new crop of nuts - walnuts, pecans an almonds that are asking to be made into a Pecan Pie, Pecan Squares, or Candied Spicy Walnuts.

Bowls of chili, soups and stews sound inviting as the weather turns cooler. The plethora of root vegetables are just waiting to be turned into a Chicken Vegetable Couscous dish. The Easy Borscht is a quick and delicious way to take advantage of the beautiful beets.

For your Thanksgiving dinner you need to try the Pecan Topped Sweet Potatoes. Everyone has a favorite turkey leftover meal but ours is the Gourmet Turkey Dagwoods.
