Give the sandwiches time to set so the flavors soak into the bread.

Muffuletta

A favorite New Orleans sandwich redolent with the flavor of olives.

Ingredients

1 10 inch Italian-style bread loaf

1/2 cup stuffed green olives

1/4 cup Greek black olives

1/4 cup Italian pickles

6 tablespoons olive oil

1 tablespoons vinegar

2 cloves garlic, crushed

1 tablespoon parsley

1 teaspoon oregano

salt and pepper

8 ounces salami, thinly sliced

8 ounces Italian salad

8 ounces provolone, thinly sliced

8 ounces Italian ham

Instructions

1. Mix the two kinds of olives and Italian pickles.

2. Dress with the olive oil, vinegar, garlic, parsley, oregano and salt and pepper.

3. Cut bread lengthwise and pour the dressing over each half to moisten bread well.

4. Pile layers of the remaining ingredients.
